Whirlpool Kenmore Washer Not Washing The Clothes Well. Washer Repair Service Out Of Chino Hills Ca. and Chino Ca.

1 of 5

Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air were Whirlpool or Kenmore washers agitator is not turning right to wash the clothes. We arrived and popped the rinse aid assembly off the top of the agitator and then with a flat head screw driver popped the cap off the agitator. This exposed the cam dog assembly, which helps catch the agitator. This allows the agitator to agitator only in one direction. When the dogs are functioning properly, they lock when you spin the top agitator counter clockwise and unlock when you spin it clockwise. This top agitator works in the opposite direction as the lower agitator to help funnel the clothes downward and then back to the top. Giving them a great wash. You could tell right away the dog catches were broken. Here's some pics so you can see......

Both hot and cold valves seemed to open ok. Then he checked the pump for any obstructions by removing pump filter cap by turning it counter clockwise(pump is located behind lower panel in pic). Pump was clear of particules and draining well. FH is usually the flow meter, which senses the flow of water in the machine. This part is located right infront of the water valve assembly. We have run into the pressure switch faulty in some cases but very few. Good Luck and for more help go to www.apcoplus.com and contact a tech.

Washer repair in Ontario and Chino Ca. were this Whirlpool top load washer won't drain or spin. Posted by Apco Appliance and Air on the web at http://www.apcoplus.com. Whirlpool, Kenmore and Roper units, drain and spin operation, depends on the lid being closed. There is a plastic (go figure) lid switch assembly that is activated when you shut the lid. The plastic actuator arm located on the switch breaks after 5 years or so. Here are a few pics on the installation of this very common lid switch assembly. Any questions go to http://www.apcoplus.net to contact us anytime.

Washer repair in Chino Hills & Corona Ca. on a Whirlpool Cabrio washer leaking water. Apco Appliance and Air at http://www.apcoplus.com is supplying this post appliance repair information. These machines have two motorized pumps. One pump is a circulation pump and the other is a drain pump. You can access them by removing the rear panel. One thing that is a must for these machines is to make sure you remove any and all coins out of the pockets of your clothes. Coins and other objects of the same size can and will make there way into the pump housing. From there it is just a matter of time before one of those objects cracks the pump body and you leak onto your floor. Like this unit we ran into. This leak can be a little one to a large one. Here are some pics.

Maytag washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. with a unit that will not agitate or spin. Appliance repair done by Apco Appliance and Air, on the web at http://www.apcoplus.com. When we arrived, this washer made by Maytag, would fill with water and then just sit without agitating. The tech Dave pulled to the right and then to the left with the timer knob and it started for a second. So he figured that the contacts in the timer were not making to send power down to the motor. He took the control panel down and grabed the wires to the connecting harness attached to the timer and bang! It started. The timer has a cam with high and low groves on it, that ingages a set of contacts, that send power to different mechanical parts. The timer sends power at set times as it turns the cam once you start it. After years of wiping the timer knob around, which is attached to the cam directly, the contacts become out of place. This can also happen just from age, given that most the voltage and amp runs threw those contacts. Long story short...... Customer needed a new timer. Here are a few pics. Always unplug the machine before you work on it.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer flashing F1. Washer repair in Corona & Chino Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. The F1 function...

Whirlpool Cabrio washer flashing F1. Washer repair in Corona & Chino Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. The F1 function code error is becoming a very common problem with these units. 99.9% of the time this code is a result of a faulty primary control board. It usually happens after 3 years but I have ran into it a little after a year in some cases. I have attached pics of the control and the F1 error displayed. Order a primary control board and that should fix your F1 problems. There are 3 screws behind the control panel. Remove them to access the board. Make sure you unplug any unit you attempt to work on yourself. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool / Kenmore washer leaking water. Washer repair in Chino and Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air.....

Whirlpool / Kenmore washer leaking water. Washer repair in Chino and Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. When Dave arrived at the customers house, he started the machine. It started to leak right in the front of the machine. Dave took the front cover off and saw that the pump was leaking right were it connected to the motor. This is the most common problem when these units leak water. The leak is usually very slow and drips in the lower front center of the unit cabnet onto the floor. The pump clips onto the motor and can be changed within 30 minutes by most techs. If you attempt to repair this yourself make sure you unplug the unit. Here are a few pics to help.....

Whirlpool washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air (http://www.apcoplus.com)....

Whirlpool washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air (http://www.apcoplus.com). This washer would not agitate or spin anymore. This machine has a lid switch that engages when you close the lid. This switch is located in the control panel area. To access the switch, you remove the two Phillips heads screws behind the panel and lift the panel up. Make sure you unplug the machine before working on it. These switches clip into the frame and sometimes the switch will POP out of the spot or the lock clip will break. When it breaks you have to replace the switch assembly. Here are some pics....

Whirlpool / Kenmore washer not spinning or draining. Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air.....

Whirlpool / Kenmore washer not spinning or draining. Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. This Whirlpool washer was not spinning or draining anymore. The tech arrived to a stinky washer :) not draining the water or spinning. He put the machine in the spin and drain setting on the timer but there was absolutely no noise. This usually means a loose wire at the motor or a bad lid switch switch. The tech lifted the lid too put a screw driver in the hole were the the switch lever is and pushed the lever down to ingage it. It did not click or push in. He unpluged the machine and reached under the cabnet to feel the lid switch and it just fell apart in his hands. The switch is made of plastic and were the screw holes are to hold the switch to the frame were. They were broken off. Customer needs new lid switch. Here are some pics....

Maytag washer repair in Chino & Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. (Instaling new pump)This ....

Maytag washer repair in Chino & Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. (Instaling new pump)This washer stopped draining and spinning. When Dave the tech arrived he turned it on in spin and heard the motor humming and  trying to start. He tipped it up to look underneath and was able to see that the pump bushing/sleeve bearing had ridden up on the pump shaft which was locking up the pump pulley from turning. This machine clearly needed a new pump. We stock these pumps because it seems to be a very common problem that occurs with these Maytag top load washers. To remove the pump you have to access and remove the panel in the left lower coroner of the back of the machine. Tilt the unit against the wall using a towel so the machine does not scratch the wall. Remove the single large belt underneath and the two hoses from the pump threw the access panel in the back. Then remove the three 3/8 screws holding the pump in place. Take care because the unit may have water inside still and if it does there will be a flow of water coming out when you remove the pump hoses. Have some towels and a wet/dry vac ready. Good luck and here are a few pics.

Whirlpool / Kenmore FRONTLOAD washer flashing FH. Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. & Chino Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air......

Whirlpool / Kenmore FRONTLOAD washer flashing FH. Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. & Chino Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. This FRONTLOAD Whirlpool / Kenmore washer was flashing FH with in the first minute or 2 of the beginning of the cycle. This code means little or no water entering the machine. I have found that the pressure switch in some machines can be the problem. Most of the time it is the water valve but not this time. This time it turned out to be the water flow metering switch. This switch senses the amount of water entering the machine. Hope this helps someone. Here are some pics...
