Dryer repair in Corona Ca.or East Vale Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air. Maytag dryer noisy. This machine when turned on made a horrible screeching noise..We opened the door to access the four screws holding the front panel on. We removed the screws and pulled the front panel forward. Remember to always unplug the unit before trying to open it up. Dave then preceded to unhook the belt from the motor and idler pulley. he then removed the 5/16 inch screws holding the filter box and glide front assembly. He then removed the tub so he could look at the 2 rollers and idler pulley. Dave then spun the idler pulley and there was a scratching noise.He the spun each roller by hand and then.... Bang...there went the noise. This is a common problem with these machines after 5 years. Sometimes you can just sand down the shafts and throw some white grease on to quite noise. But on this one the rollers and pulley were worn down to much. Here's some pics to see the parts..

Appliance dryer repair in Chino Hills Ca. by Apco Appliance and Air. Working on noisy GE dryer squealing as it turns. Dave took the 2 screws out that are in the enter upper door area. Then he lifted off the top to look at front glides attached to the upper front felt seal. The front glides disintegrated over time and the tub starting riding down on the rear plastic bushing/bearing and it damaged it. Customer needs new upper and lower front glides and rear bushing now. The front glides are attached to a glide assembly which is located on the front door frame. Here's some pics to help....

Apco Appliance and Air in chino hills ca. Working on an LG dryer not heating. Had to remove top and front of machine to access the burner chamber. These units have a resetable thermostat on the chamber for safety if unit chamber gets to hot. This thermostat will trip if vent is clogged or pinched and if the lint filter chamber gets clogged restricting air flow.

This caused lint to build up on back of dryer near heat chamber which caused lint to started smoldering. Advice......check your dryer vents for tears.
