Whirlpool / Kenmore washer not spinning or draining. Washer repair in Chino Hills Ca. with Apco Appliance and Air. This Whirlpool washer was not spinning or draining anymore. The tech arrived to a stinky washer :) not draining the water or spinning. He put the machine in the spin and drain setting on the timer but there was absolutely no noise. This usually means a loose wire at the motor or a bad lid switch switch. The tech lifted the lid too put a screw driver in the hole were the the switch lever is and pushed the lever down to ingage it. It did not click or push in. He unpluged the machine and reached under the cabnet to feel the lid switch and it just fell apart in his hands. The switch is made of plastic and were the screw holes are to hold the switch to the frame were. They were broken off. Customer needs new lid switch. Here are some pics....
