Apco Appliance and Air in Chino Hills Ca working on washing machine (whirlpool) that won't spin or agitate. When Dave arrived he set washer timer to spin and motor ran but there was no spinning going on. The machine was making a grinding and cracking noise. He removed front and pulled motor out to find coupling cracked. He installed a heavy duty coupling that has a metal center. Here is a picture of old cracked all plastic coupling and new metal centered coupling
